The important tips to all those who teach archery
All our champions begin the learning of archery in our clubs. While some may have discovered it outside, they all chose one day to join a club to learn our sport. The role of the club in a learning process is therefore essential to advance the archers and develop their talents. Even if beginners will not all become champions, their progression from quality training, will strengthen their fidelity in practice.

We must therefore constantly seek to change the quality of our trainings and our trainings. This collection does not pretend to answer all the questions, the training of the teachers voluntary and professionals pass above all by their commitment in the formations proposed by the FFTA.
It is always tricky to want to say everything with few messages. It is also complex to prioritize the relevance of our remarks. However, we have selected a few guidelines from our experience to help all those who pass on their passion for archery through practice and advice.
These councils focus more on the organization of training than on their content and are limited to the technical and biomechanical aspects of our activity.
If we could summarize the arc only in its technical aspect, we could define 3 objectives to achieve to improve the performance of an archer. He should
• Achieving stable body movements and identical movements during shooting
• Put in place the continuity of shooting
• Perform a smooth and smooth release
Several tips are proposed in this document to set your training and thus better achieve these goals with your athletes.
1. Set point
Pull continuity regardless of the degree of instability of the viewfinder. Warning! However, to this instruction which must not systematically associate the speed of execution. For to draw in continuity is to shoot all the time and not necessarily to shoot very quickly. It is important to be attentive to it then to allow a good coordination with the placement of the sight in target.
Release the rope by releasing the fingers, the rope is released on a release (flexors of the fingers) not over a voluntary and excessive opening (finger extensors).
To be stable during all its action of shooting on its vertical and horizontal axis. Place your shoulders correctly during arming and during the shooting must be low and on the same horizontal line.
Pull with his back, from the beginning of the armament and to the end of his gesture by releasing the tensions in both hands and wrists. Pull with three fingers on the string without changing their placement from the beginning of tensioning until the rope is released.
2. Propose training situations
There are three main situations of shooting in training:
Shooting on the straw
Shooting on straw is the situation that is most frequent in training. The shooting takes place at a short distance. This situation increases the volume of arrows, reducing the recovery time of these arrows. You should always start the workouts on the straw.
The removal of the target favors the concentration on the work of the back, the placement of the shoulder line, and the quality of the continuity.
This type of training makes it possible to work in order to improve the firing technique and to automate the actions defined as effective beforehand.
Shooting on visual
The shooting on the visual allows to coordinate the continuous action of the archer reducing the instabilities of his sight.
Caution It is a matter of maintaining the continuity of the firing as a priority by seeking to reduce the instabilities of the sight which by nature is never completely immobile.
In seeking the stability of their sight, the archers take the risk to stop their motor action and consequently to alternate in the sequence of the movement, the resumes of the action with searches of immobility of the sight.
When the archer stretches his bow to the face, the arrow must go within 3 seconds. To do this, it is necessary to center its viewfinder during arming, to draw continuity until the end of its gesture (after the start of the arrow) and to accept in the action the visual instability. The size of the display is relative to the level of instability of the viewfinder.
Shooting on a coat of arms
The shooting on coat of arms allows to continue the work previously described in the conditions of the competition.
Maintaining concentration on investments and continuity must be strengthened in this situation.
Your requirement must be important in this type of workout. All archers who would reduce the quality of their action (continuity, placements and release)
